Times are shown in your own time zone.
US reports we watch at Logan’s Grove
These are the US releases that most often move the markets we trade. Official release schedules: BLS · BEA · Federal Reserve (FOMC) · Census · CFTC.
| Report | When | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Jobs report (Non-Farm Payrolls) | Usually the first Friday of the month, 8:30 a.m. ET | The biggest monthly mover for the US dollar. Strong hiring tends to lift rate expectations and the dollar, which often weighs on silver. |
| CPI (consumer inflation) | Mid-month, 8:30 a.m. ET | Inflation drives what the Fed does next. A surprise either way can move silver and dollar pairs sharply within seconds. |
| PCE inflation | Near the end of the month, 8:30 a.m. ET | The Fed’s preferred inflation measure, released with personal income and spending. |
| GDP | Quarterly (advance estimate about a month after the quarter ends), 8:30 a.m. ET | The broadest read on the economy. The first estimate usually moves markets most. |
| FOMC rate decision | 8 meetings a year; statement 2:00 p.m. ET, press conference 2:30 p.m. ET | Interest-rate decisions and the Fed chair’s comments move every market. Expect fast, two-way swings. |
| FOMC minutes | About 3 weeks after each meeting, 2:00 p.m. ET | Details of the Fed’s discussion; can shift rate expectations. |
| Retail sales | Mid-month, 8:30 a.m. ET | A read on consumer strength, the largest part of the US economy. |
| Commitments of Traders (COT) | Fridays, 3:30 p.m. ET (positions as of Tuesday) | Shows how large speculators and commercial traders are positioned in futures, including silver. |
