Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re so good at price action trading, then why are you spending your time teaching?

I have found that I enjoy sharing what I know and helping others that are interested in learning to trade. And I know there are a too many hucksters on the internet tying to take advantage of people. My goal is to give an honest and realistic view of price action trading.

Why do so many new traders fail so miserably?

It’s human nature to foul things up. We overestimate the rewards and underestimate the consequences. We get our thinking backwards. Traders become greedy when they should be fearful and become fearful when they should be greedy.

Is it difficult to learn to trade consistently and profitably?

It’s not difficult to learn to trade. Is is difficult to learn to control your emotions.

How long will it take me to learn to trade successfully?

Learning to trade is not an overnight endeavor. You have to learn price action, correct profit targets and correct stop loss levels along with position sizing and risk management. The quickest I’ve seen a new trader get up and running was 90 days. And that was the exception not the rule. Plan on a year a least.

How are the classes structured?

I hold two types of classes. The first is an introduction for traders that are completely new to trading. The language of trading and learning trading platforms can be time consuming so I work to bring all this into focus.  The second is actually looking at live price action charts to identify supply and demand levels, support and resistance zones, patterns and the placing of trades. While the trade is open we study trade management and after the trade is closed the results are reviewed. Repetition is critical to learning. It does take time to start to see how prices are being laid down and what they may mean.

What time frames will we be trading on?

I always start with weekly charts for the best reward to risk setups. Then I drop down to the daily, 4 hour, 2 hour for early entries and exits. If the chart is well structured we can drop all the way down to 1 minute, 5 minute, 15 minute trading.

How is trader progress measured?

The best measure is the slope of your equity line. If it’s negative you have work to do, if it’s choppy you have fine tuning to do and if it’s positive without large drawdowns after many trade executions you are ready.

Do I teach mechanical and or robotic trading systems?

Definitely not. Such systems maybe be accurate some of the time, but not enough of the time to rely on. And most have the potential for large account drawdowns.

Managing Your Account

What happens when I sign up?

When you join me you will have a user name and password to gain access to the site, calendar, classes and content. You will also be directed to download and install the trading platform through our affiliate.

How do the trading groups work?

The instruction and trading groups will be listed on the calendar while one on one coaching is scheduled. If you are new to trading, there will be a weekly class introducing you to the currency markets and why I trade them.

If you are new to the trading platform, there will be a weekly class dedicated to just learning the platform with time for questions and answers.

What does success look like?

Your trading progress will be measured by trading with real time data, but in a virtual account. There is no reason to start trading in a live funded account until you are ready.  Being ready is determined by your winning rate, your average winner, your average loser, maximum account drawdown and trading expectancy. When you are ready, then and only then, should you trade in a funded account

Do we start with a funded account?

There are opportunities to trade a funded account when you have proven you are ready. Please see membership details for more information or contact us.
